Ford ten bolt top cover top loader (top loader) 4 speed transmission. Transmission tag is RUG AR1. Various www sources indicate this as 1971 Fairlane close ratio, 1970 Torino wide ratio, or 1971 Fairlane wide ratio. Inspection indicates this has a wide ratio gearset (2.78:1 first gear). Case and tailshaft overall length about 24-1/4". Input shaft 10 splines, about 1-1/16" diameter. Output shaft 28 splines, diameter about 1-3/16". Distance from front of case to tip of input shaft about 6-5/8". Casting numbers: front bearing retainer 7050Y, main case D2AR 7006-CAW2, tailshaft housing DOZR-7A040-A. This transmission was in use and removed to replace with a TKO 5 speed. Transmission only, no shifter or linkage.
